Instructions For Use
EN
Manufacturer's Performance Criteria Specification
The Essential performance is derived from the specific part 2 standards for Ultrasound, NIBP, SPO2 and ECG, viewed in the context of Fetal monitoring.
Function
Essential performance (EP)
User expectation if EP is lost
System
System power on/off status
maintained.
Blank screen with no audio - obvious to the user.
Printer on/off status
maintained.
Printer turns off – data is still available on the screen
and retrievable from memory.
Printer turns on – unwanted printed trace is a minor
inconvenience
Display status maintained /
remains legible.
If changes occur on the display, it is obvious to the user
and generally accompanied by audio disturbance.
Ultrasound
FHR accuracy maintained.
The user will perceive unexpected trace patterns
generally accompanied by audio disturbance.
Waveform display free from
noise.
Waveform distortion is obvious to the user and
generally accompanied by audio disturbance.
Ultrasound intensity controlled. The user would experience loss of function or
temperature increase.
Transducer temperature not
excessive.
In extreme fault situation, warming of the transducer
would be the worst case outcome.
NIBP
Pulse rate accuracy
maintained.
Unexpected or erratic pulse rate patterns would prompt
the user seeking alternative confirmation.
Signal inadequacy display.
Loss of signal inadequacy display will in most cases
have no effect and in the worst case scenario would be
noticeable by erratic display of SPO2 and heartrate.
Connection fault detection.
Loss of connection fault detection would almost
certainly be noticeable by No display or erratic display
of SPO2 and heartrate.
Settings maintained if mains is
lost.
Worst case scenario is that the user is inconvenienced
and has to re-establish settings.
Battery status clearly indicated. Worst case scenario is that the monitor shuts down
which is obvious to the user.
