6.6 Charging the Devices
6.6.1 TMSO.CU
The battery of the TMSO.CU is charged via the USB connector. When connected to a PC,
charging takes place with a low charging current according to USB2.0. When using the
supplied charger and quick charging cable the charging current is significantly higher.
If the TMSO.CU is switched off, it is automatically switched on when the USB cable is
connected. The
CHARGE LED
then indicates the current charge level:
Fast flashing: charging with high charge current
Slow flashing: charging with low charge current
Permanently lit: charging completed
Charging via USB cable is also possible during use in the field. For safety reasons only a low
charging current is applied. In addition no USB data connection with the connected device is
possible in this operating state.
Furthermore, please note that the battery can only be charged within the correct temperature
window (see technical information under
). If the temperature is too high or too
low the charging process is paused.
This restriction also applies to charging the battery in the field by solar power.
6.6.2 TMSO.IM
The battery of the TMSO.IM is charged by wireless
energy transfer.
For this purpose the sensor is placed with its backside
on one of the TMS.Single chargers which in turn is
connected to the supplied charger. It has 6 equivalent
channels so that the 4 single chargers and thus 4
TMSO.IM and the TMSO.CU can be charged
simultaneously.
NOTE!
It is also possible to use any other wireless charging
cradle that works according to the QI standard.
However the devices were only tested with the
supplied TMS.Single chargers. Therefore there is no
guarantee for the function in combination with other chargers.
If a switched off sensor is placed on a charging cradle it switches on automatically.
The sensor's status LED and the charger cradle light indicate the current charging status:
Status LED flashes and the lighting of the charging cradle changes evenly between
light and dark: charging process active
Status LED and charger cradle light are lit continuously: charging process completed
The device can be removed from the charger at any time. It then switches off automatically
after a few seconds
The battery can only be charged within the correct temperature window (see technical
information under
). If the temperature is too high or too low the charging
process is paused.
