Replacing the Lithium Batteries

Remove the four circuit card spacers.
7.
Gently rotate the circuit card backward until you can lay it down flat with the
batteries exposed.
8.
Carefully pry the old battery out of its socket and insert a new battery.
9.
Rotate the circuit card back to the original position and place it on the mini-
touch panel. Insert and tighten the circuit card spacers.
10.
Connect the touch overlay's ribbon cable connector and backlight connector to
the circuit card.
11.
Return the mini-touch panel to the back box or equipment rack and connect the
AXlink and RS-232 4-pin header for approximately 1 minute. Then, remove the
AXlink and RS-232 4-pin header.
12.
Repeat steps 5 through 10 for the second battery. Then, go to step 13.
13.
Return the mini-touch panel to the back box or equipment rack and connect the
AXlink and RS-232 4-pin header .
14.
Insert the four mounting screws and tighten.
15.
Place the engraved overlay onto the AXU-MLC (/PB) or AXM-MLC (/PB) bezel.
AXW-MLC (/PB)
Replace the batteries in the AXW-MLC (/PB) wood enclosure:
1.
Discharge the static electricity from your body by touching a grounded object.
2.
Disconnect the mini-XLR connector from the AXW-MLC (/PB).
3.
Flip the AXW-MLC (/PB) facedown onto a soft cloth, remove the six panel
screws, and remove the bottom panel.
4.
Remove the touch overlay's ribbon cable connector, backlight connector, and
AXlink connector from the circuit card.
5.
Remove the four mounting screws from the circuit card.
6.
Gently tilt the bottom portion of the circuit card up. Then, pull the circuit card
backward to remove it from the wood enclosure. Figure 172 shows the
connectors and how to remove the circuit card.
Caution
There is a danger of explo-sion
if you replace the batteries
incorrectly. Replace the
batteries with the same or
equivalent type recommended
by the manufacturer. Dispose of
used batteries according to the
manufacturer’s instruc-tions.
Never recharge, disassemble,
or heat the batteries above 212
°F (100 °C). Never solder
directly to the batteries or
expose the contents of the
batteries to water.
