Operator Manual
129360-627
The following is a listing of the safety precautions which must be observed when operating and servicing this equipment.
WARNINGS indicate the potential for danger to personnel, and CAUTIONS indicate the potential for damage to
equipment. These precautions are repeated (in whole or in part), where applicable, throughout the manual.
WARNING - PERSONAL INJURY HAZARD:
Repairs and adjustments should be attempted only by experienced technicians fully acquainted with this
equipment. Use of inexperienced, unqualified persons to work on the equipment or the installation of unauthorized
parts could cause personal injury or result in costly damage.
Do not attempt to clean lighthead unless power is turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box. For floor stand units,
unplug at receptacle. Make sure the lighthead is cool before touching.
Do not attempt to replace lamp unless power is turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box. For floor stand units,
unplug at receptacle. Make sure the lighthead is cool before touching.
When replacing or removing lamp, grasp the lamp by the ceramic base and pry from the socket. Do not pull on
glass portion of lamp as it may break.
WARNING - ELECTRIC SHOCK AND BURN HAZARD:
Disconnect all electrical input to the lighting system before servicing. Do not service the lighting system unless
all electrical input has been properly locked out. Always follow OSHA lock-out/tagout and electrical safety related
work practice standards. (See 29 CFR 1910.147 and .331 through .335.)
WARNING - EXPLOSION HAZARD:
Do not use lighting fixture in the presence of flammable anesthetics.
CAUTION - POSSIBLE EQUIPMENT DAMAGE:
Two people are required when inspecting suspension arm/lighthead mounting integrity.
Do not bump lightheads into walls or other equipment.
Use only recommended cleaning/disinfecting and/or antistatic agents on this light. Some degree of staining,
pitting, and/or discoloration could occur if a phenolic-, lodophor-, or glutaraldehyde-based disinfectant is used on
the surfaces of this light. Also, use of alcohol or aerosol spray cleaner/disinfectants (e.g., Lysol) containing a
substantial amount of alcohol in the formula can damage the acrylic plastic lens.
Use of any disinfectant solution other than those listed below may cause discoloration or deformation of the acrylic
lens surface: Coverage
HB Concentrate or Coverage
Plus. Cleaning solutions other than those listed have NOT
been tested for compatibility or effectiveness. Always follow manufacturer instructions and use of cleaning
products.
Let lamps cool and then use cotton gloves or cloth to remove lamp to prevent skin oils from contacting glass.
Prevent leakage of fluids into interior of light.
Do not touch glass portion of lamp during re-lamping or cleaning. Skin oils are harmful to lamp life. If glass is
touched, wipe with alcohol and pat dry. Use clean, soft, lint-free cloths only.
