6 TROUBLESHOOTING
Use the following Troubleshooting Chart to identify problems and probable
causes should they occur.
If a problem occurs that is not described in this section, please call your STERIS
Engineering Service representative at 1-800-333-8828 to schedule a trained
service technician to promptly place your light in proper working order.
NOTE: Never permit unqualified persons to service the lighting system.
Problem Possible Cause and/or Correction
1. Light does not function No power to light:
("POWER ON" LED not lit) a. Ensure the facility circuit breaker has not
tripped and, for floor stand units, unit is
plugged into receptacle.
b. Call Service.
2. Light does not function Lamp burned out:
("POWER ON" LED lit) a. Check yellow filament failure LED. Change
bulb if needed.
b. Call Service.
3. Cannot change pattern size Lamp filament burned out:
a. Check yellow filament failure LED. Change
bulb if needed.
b. Call Service.
4. Cannot change intensity Internal light part failure:
a. Call Service.
5. Light flickers Bad lamp or lamp not seated properly:
a. Check lamp, replace or reseat if needed.
b. Call Service.
6. Poor light intensity Bad lamp or dirty optics:
a. Check lamp, replace if needed.
b. Clean optics (lens, reflector, filter)
c. Call Service.
7. Short lamp life (less than Voltage to bulb too high:
200 hours) a. Call Service.
8. Lighthead does not rotate Lighthead friction brake needs adjustment:
smoothly or drifts within yoke. a. Adjust yoke/lighthead friction brake.

9. Lighthead and suspension Suspension arm needs adjusted:
arm assembly drifts (up or a. Call Service.

10. Yoke binds at suspension Internal light problem:

11. Standard ceiling mount drifts Ceiling mount not level, loose ceiling
