» Lamp Replacement
(See Figure 6)

Figure 6. LAMP REPLACEMENT
1. Remove lampholder assembly from top of lighthead by pulling up on
handle.
2. Grasp defective lamp by its ceramic base and pry lamp from lamp socket.
3. Grasp new lamp by its ceramic base (do not remove protective wrapper or
touch glass portion of lamp) and plug lamp into lamp socket.
4. Remove protective wrapper from lamp.
5. Align lampholder assembly plug with receptacle in lighthead and snap
lampholder assembly back into position.
WARNING - PERSONAL IN-
JURY HAZARD: Do not at-
tempt to replace lamp unless
power is turned off at the
circuit breaker or fuse box.
For floor stand units, unplug
at receptacle. Make sure the
lighthead is cool before
touching.
WARNING - PERSONAL IN-
JURY HAZARD: When replac-
ing or removing lamp, grasp
the lamp by the ceramic base
and pry from the socket. Do
not pull on glass portion of
lamp as it may break.
CAUTION - POSSIBLE
EQUIPMENT DAMAGE: Let
lamps cool then use cotton
gloves or cloth to remove
lamp to prevent skin oils from
contacting glass.
CAUTION - POSSIBLE
EQUIPMENT DAMAGE: Do
not touch glass portion of
lamp during relamping or
cleaning. Skin oils are harm-
ful to lamp life. If glass is
touched, wipe with alcohol
and pat dry. Use soft, lint-
free cloths only.

Rubber Gloves

Mild Household Detergent (e.g., Joy

[Proctor & Gamble])

Coverage HB Concentrate or Coverage Plus. Both are available from STERIS.
•
Antistatic Acrylic Cleaner (for lens).
