8.4.1 Upgrading

Software

From time-to-time you might need to upgrade the switch’s software. This might be to take
advantage of new features, or to fix problems. To do this you need the software upgrade
files, together with a correctly configured FTP server on a computer with a connection to the
board, and the IP address of the host as demonstrated in the figure below.

To upgrade the firmware the switch has to be in failsafe mode. You do this by sending the
“rebootFailSafe” command.
