7. MAINTENANCE
7.1 Scope
The DS Agile H38x has been designed for a storage/operational life-cycle in excess of 15
years.
It is self-supervising and should not need routine maintenance.
However routine inspection of the installation is recommended.
If there is a problem with the product, it will be indicated as an alarm, either by LED or by
alarm contacts. Monitoring of the alarm contacts is, therefore, strongly recommended. The
alarm will indicate that attention is required.
If you have preventative maintenance policies, then they should include checking the
condition of the external wiring, checking the indications on the LEDs, and checking the
alarm contacts.
7.2 Pre-Maintenance Requirements
BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY WORK ON THIS PRODUCT YOU
SHOULD STUDY THE CONTENTS OF THE SAFETY AND TECHNICAL
DATA OF THE ALSTOM SAFETY GUIDE SFTY/4L M/H11 (OR LATER
ISSUE) AND THE RATINGS ON THE EQUIPMENT RATING LABEL.
YOU SHOULD ALSO READ THE “SAFETY AND HANDLING” SECTION
OF THIS DOCUMENT BEFORE CARRYING OUT WORK ON THIS
PRODUCT.
7.3 Repair
This product cannot be repaired in-service. Should the product fail, then it will need to be
replaced with an equivalent device.
7.3.1 Replacing the DS Agile H38x
The case and connectors have been designed for ease of use, so removing the
DS Agile H38x is very simple.
7.3.1.1 Removing the DS Agile H38x
Before disconnecting, check that labels correctly identify the connections, and match the
descriptions.
Note the IP Address, Subnet settings, etc., to configure the replacement. Then:
1. Disconnect all power supply connectors
2. Disconnect the alarm contacts connectors
3. Disconnect the Ethernet RJ45 connectors
4. Disconnect the Ethernet optical connectors
5. Disconnect the protective earth connection
6. Withdraw the product from the DIN rail carefully, paying attention to its weight.
