IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
•
Before using the device and its accessories, read this manual carefully and respect the instructions for use of this device. Keep this booklet
for future reference.
•
If you resell the unit, please provide this booklet with the unit.
•
The appliance is intended for use in domestic and similar applications. Do not use it for direct commercial purposes, in moving vehicles or
outdoors. When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
•
Children should not play with the device. Always keep this device and its accessories out of the reach of children.
•
This unit may be used by children aged 3 and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience, provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the unit and understand the hazards
involved.
•
Never leave the appliance unattended. Keep children under 3 years away from the machine and the power cable.
•
Children should not carry out cleaning or user maintenance tasks unless they are over 8 years old and have been supervised.
•
Do not use the appliance if there are obvious defects to the appliance, cable or connector.
•
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service department or similarly qualified person in order
to avoid any danger.
•
The appliance must not be operated with an external timer or a separate remote control system, such as a remote control socket, as the
appliance must never be left unattended during operation so that you can intervene in time in the event of a malfunction.
•
Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or has suffered damage in any way.
•
Before plugging in the power cord, check that the voltage matches the voltage indicated on the product label at the bottom of the product.
•
Only use the appliance on a dry, flat and heat-resistant surface.
•
Never place the machine on or near a hot surface, open fire, heated oven or near gas or electrical appliances as this may cause damage to
the machine.
•
Place the appliance in a stable and level position so that your child cannot tip it over or pull the cable from the table or counter.
•
After each use, disconnect the machine from the power supply by removing the plug from the socket.
•
When cleaning the machine, always unplug it and allow it to cool down first.
•
Never immerse the base in water or any other liquid.
•
Do not rinse the unit under the tap.
•
Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents, bleach or aggressive liquids such as petrol, acetone or alcohol to clean the unit or its
accessories.
•
Regular descaling prevents damage to the unit.
•
Never place the base and accessories in the microwave.
•
The blade unit is sharp. Take this into account when dismantling and cleaning the appliance.
•
The appliance is not intended for blending hard and/or sticky ingredients.
•
The appliance is not intended to heat or boil liquids other than water in the water tank.
•
To protect against electric shock, the cable must not come into contact with water or hot plates
•
The appliance is not intended for defrosting or reheating food. Do not heat baby food for too long. For reasons of food hygiene, do not use
the appliance for longer than one hour.
•
Stir the contents of the pot after cooking. Before feeding your child, check on the inside of your wrist that the temperature of the food is safe
for your baby. A palpable temperature is around 37 °C, which is the same as your own body temperature.
•
Be careful when opening the appliance as the heat releases hot steam.
•
During use, the appliance, the water tank, the lids and the accessories become very hot. To lift the steam basket, use the spatula (see
illustration on page 8, point 12). To lift the jug, hold it by the handle. If required, wear oven gloves during use.
•
In the event of wrong use or use not in accordance with the instructions in the user manual, the warranty will become void.
•
Use only the accessories supplied with this product.
•
The unit does not contain any spare parts (except for an additional sealing ring Q). Never dismantle the unit yourself. Service may only be
carried out by qualified technical staff. Improperly executed repairs may cause dangerous situations for the user.
•
After use, unplug the unit from the mains supply to prevent it from being switched on unintentionally.
4.
COMMISSIONING/PREPARATIONS
AFTER PURCHASE:
• Immediately after purchase, check with the overview drawing (see chapter 2.1. APPLIANCE AND
ACCESSORIES) whether the BFP-66 is supplied with all accessories. Please contact your supplier if anything
is missing.
• Make sure the BFP-66 is undamaged, including the power cord. If in doubt, consult your supplier or the Alecto

• Remove all accessories from the packaging and check for damage.
BEFORE FIRST USE:
• Remove all packing materials from the appliance and accessories.
• Clean all parts thoroughly before first use. See chapter 6. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE.
BEFORE EACH USE:
• Place the appliance on a firm and flat surface and keep enough space around the appliance to avoid any
damage to kitchen cupboards (e.g. due to the hot steam) and you can hold the appliance firmly when blending.
• Do not plug in the power cord until all preparations for steaming, heating, blending/pureeing and sterilizing
have been completed.
