SNA is IBM’s proprietary network architecture. It also refers to a class of

SRM

subrate multiplexer

A device which allows data and compressed voice to be multiplexed

together and put on a single DS0.

SSU

system synchronization unit

The circuit which generates the system clocks (C4M, FP, C3M) from

whatever master-clock source is selected.

TS0

timeslot 0

The first timeslot in a CEPT frame. Timeslot zero can be used to carry CPSS

messages.

transmit

TXD signal

transmit data signal

UART

universal asynchronous receiver transmitter

A UART is an integrated circuit designed to perform character

assembly/disassembly, and the conversion of parallel data into serial data for

transmission over an asynchronous data channel.
