Maintenance
•
As a basic rule, disconnect the main 220 Vac power before servicing the machine or when the ma-
chine is taken off line.
•
Only use the tools for their defined purpose.
•
Never remove or disable any DRS27 safety features or software.
•
Make sure that all electrical devices are leakage current protected and are stored and used in dry,
dust-free surroundings.
•
The machine contains static sensitive devices. Use caution to avoid static discharge when handling
DRS27 machine parts.
•
Use original spare parts only.

General Cautions
•
The customer is responsible for the safety of their operations and the actions of their employees.
•
The customer's employees are responsible for understanding and following all safety instructions
outlined by the customer’s process specification and safety policies.
•
These employees should also be trained in electrical safety, and should be familiar with all hazards
associated with Air-Vac Engineering systems. If toxic gases or chemicals are used with the equip-
ment, the personnel working with these materials must also be familiar with related MSDSs and as-
sociated safety requirements. In addition, personnel working with Air-Vac Engineering equipment
should observe to the following guidelines:
•
Maintenance should be performed by qualified personnel only.
•
Standard cautions should be observed when working on the machine
•
If tasks do not require power, perform proper Lockout Tagout procedures to ensure machine is safe
to work on. Note: heaters may still be hot for some time after removing power.
•
If machine is required to be powered for maintenance tasks, use caution. Removal of covers ex-
poses high voltage areas. Provide warnings to others in the area of exposed hazards.
•
Moving axis produce a pinch point hazard. Be careful of Z and vision axis motion.
•
Heaters can reach high temperatures that can burn skin on contact. If heater operation is required,
do not touch surfaces or place anything on heater surfaces (fire hazard).
•
DO NOT smoke, eat, or drink while operating or servicing the system.
•
Always work with a partner when conducting service and maintenance functions involving hazard-
ous-voltage conditions: one person to monitor the system status; the other, to carry out the mainte-
nance or service.
•
Always wear appropriate protective clothing when working around the equipment. Consult your in-
house safety coordinator for specific requirements.
•
Avoid inhaling cleaning fluid vapors while cleaning the system components. Whenever using clean-
ing fluids or lubricants, follow all warnings and cautions contained on the labels.
