MAC Address Table
The MAC address table keeps track of the Media Access Control (MAC) addresses
that are associated with each port. This table allows the device to forward unicast
traffic through the appropriate port. The MAC address table is sometimes called the
bridge table or the forwarding database.
Use the MAC Address Table page to display information about entries in the MAC
address table. The transparent bridging function uses these entries to determine how
to forward a received frame.

System Description
The product name of this device.
Machine Type
The hardware platform of this device.
Machine Model
The product model number.
Serial Number
The unique serial number used to identify the device.
Manufacturer
The two-octet code that identifies the manufacturer.
Burned In MAC
Address
The device burned-in universally-administered media access control
(MAC) address.
Software Version
The release.version.maintenance number of the code currently run-
ning on the switch. For example, if the release is 1, the version is 2
and the maintenance number is 4, the format is 1.2.4.
Hardware Version
The device hardware version.
Build Version
The software trunk version.

Item
Description
VLAN ID
The VLAN with which the MAC address is associated. A MAC
address can be associated with multiple VLANs.
MAC Address
A unicast MAC address for which the switch has forwarding and/or fil-
tering information. The format is a six-byte MAC address, with each
byte separated by colons.
Interface
The port where this address was learned. The port identified in this
field is the port through which the MAC address can be reached.
Interface Index
The Interface Index of the MIB interface table entry associated with
the source port. This value helps identify an interface when using
SNMP to manage the device.
