restored (to ensure internal circuitry is re started proper-
ly), even if power restoration is immediate.
After loading samples into each cassette, the cassette may be placed
in the input deck at any time the cassette pusher is not moving.
If the accuracy and repeatability on the reference solution is satis -
factory, allow the instru ment to test the remaining samples. If the
accuracy or repeatability is not satisfactory, testing should be
stopped using the STOP button, and step 6 should be reviewed.
10.As the Model 3900 tests the samples in each cas sette, the cassette is
pushed into the right deck where as many as six cassettes can
accumu late. As the cassettes accumulate in the output deck, they
may be refilled with new samples and reinstalled in the deck.
NOTE
a. Cassettes cannot be reused in a bar coded test batch.
b. If either batch numbering or bar code reading has been
selected and, for any reason, the number of samples actual-
ly tested does not agree with the number of samples entered
at the prompt “# of Samples: ” , “WARNING -
Check Samples” will be displayed.
c. Cassettes should be cleaned periodically to remove the
accumulation of residual heat transfer fluid from tested
samples. This will prevent fluid from dripping on the
instrument surface as new samples are removed from the
cassettes for testing.
When all the samples in the last cassette have been tested, the
instrument will enter the standby mode and display “ Osmometer
Ready ”. Gently wipe the probe and stir/freeze wire with a pure
water dampened tissue to prevent contami nating subsequent tests.
Be careful not to bend the probe or stir/freeze wire.
During standby, the Model 3900 periodically checks the heat transfer
fluid level. When the Model 3900 does not have enough heat transfer
