DLP-7 Updating the Firmware using TFTP

Introduction

The Total Access 6XX supports firmware updates using TFTP or XMODEM. (Use the

10/100BASET

Ethernet port and TFTP from a network server, or use XMODEM and the rear

CRAFT

interfaces.) This

DLP provides the steps for a successful firmware upgrade using the

10/100BASET

Ethernet port and a

TFTP server. (See DLP-8,

Updating the Firmware using XMODEM

, for instructions on using XMODEM.)

Tools and Materials Required

•

A PC with Telnet client software

•

A TFTP server accessible on the local network

A TFTP server is provided as part of the ADTRAN Utilities software suite supplied with
your shipment.

To prevent electrical shock, do not install equipment in a wet location or during a
lightning storm.

Electronic equipment can be damaged by static electrical discharge. Before handling
modules, put on an antistatic discharge wrist strap to prevent damage to electronic
components. Place equipment in antistatic packing material when transporting or storing.
When working on equipment, always place it on an approved antistatic mat that is
electrically grounded.
