When using Sony products with direct serial inputs, special modifications need to be
made on the PCT-4. Consult with ADA as to the modification required. When using
the PCT-8, a special setting in software is specifically for Sony components when using
the direct serial connectors. See the PCT-8 Installation Manual as to settings for Sony
component.
Step Q - SSD-66 (THX) Home Theater Systems
After you have one keypad operating with full source control, add the first surround sound
decoder to the system. If the home theater is not on the room with the first keypad, proceed
with step R and add the home theater keypad before adding the SSD-66.
The SSD-66 must first connect to a BI-3000 input (marked "UNIT") and the BI-3000's output
(marked "BUS") connects to an open WH-3000 J3-J10 connector. At this time, the SSD-66 is
connected to the ADA Bus™, however, special considerations exist on both the Delta-88 and
SSD-66. If your system has been preprogrammed by ADA, the connection of the SSD-66 to the
system should provide instant home theater control.
When controlling a home theater system from the room's keypad, the VOL UP and VOL DN
buttons no longer control the volume in the RAM-50 but rather the volume of the SSD-66. The
keypad's display will show four numbers (- or +) associated to the front left, front right, center,
and rear speaker channels. Typically, room volume (when no SSD-66) is used is displayed with
a single number (0 to +40). Furthermore, the button next to VOL UP, typically BASS UP, is
labeled MODE when using an SSD-66. This button scrolls through the SSD-66's modes (not
including "SETUP MODE" which only can be accessed on the SSD-66) and displays these
modes on the keypad's LED display. The remaining buttons which replace BASS DN, TREBLE
UP, and TREBLE DN buttons respectfully are VOL PRESET, DELAY, & MONO ENHAN
which all correspond to functions on the SSD-66. If your home theater keypad does not have
these SSD-66 function buttons, call ADA to have these buttons sent out for replacement.
If your system has two or more SSD-66s and has been preprogrammed by ADA, the SSD-66s
will be marked with the zone name or number that they were programmed to operate on. If
you are programming the system or experiencing problems, the next steps will explain how
to program and check the SSD-66 and Delta-88 for home theaters.

Programming the Delta-88 for Home Theaters
Because a Delta System can incorporate any number of independent home theater systems, the
SSD-66 is equipped with several addresses which tell it what room it is operating with. Since
the SSD-66 becomes the active preamplifier for the home theater zone, you will also need to tell
the home theater room on the Delta-88, that the SSD-66 will be controlling room volume
operations instead of the Delta-88's RAM-50 Room Card. To program the Delta-88 for a home
theater system (SSD-66), follow these steps.

Make certain that the Delta-88s and keypad are connected to the WH-3000. In order for
the Delta-88 to download information to keypads (program the keypads), the keypads
