( DiffSer v Code Point ) num ber bet w een 0 and 63 in t he field provided.
Pr ecedenc
e
Select An y t o classify t raffic fr om any pr ecedence or select t he second opt ion and specify an I P
Pr ecedence ( t he fir st 3 bit s of of t he 8- bit ToS field) value bet ween 0 and 7 in t he field pr ov ided.
ToS
Select An y t o classify t raffic fr om any ToS or select t he second opt ion and specify Ty pe of Ser v ice
( t he last 5 bit s of t he 8- bit ToS field) value bet w een 0 and 255 in t he field pr ov ided.

The Next Header field is sim ilar t o t he I Pv 4 Pr ot ocol field. The I Pv 6 prot ocol num ber ranges fr om
1 t o 255.

“ 255.255.255.0” can be repr esent ed as “ 11111111.11111111.11111111.00000000”, and
count ing up t he num ber of ones in t his case r esult s in 24.
