8.5.2.2 Placing a Call on Hold
If you want to put the conversation on hold, press the Hold key. The LED on the call appearance
button flashes green for 500 ms and off for 500 ms.
The phone is silent. Although you still have the phone off hook, the phone does not provide you
with a dial tone and does not automatically reserve a call appearance.
You can place the phone on hook. The call that is on hold remains on hold. When you take the
phone off hook, the phone does not provide you with a dial tone and does not automatically
reserve a call appearance.
8.5.2.3 Expanded Display
If the phone is in the expanded display mode when you put a call on hold and the phone is not
receiving an incoming call, the phone changes the display to:

The display shows the time period that the conversation has been on hold in hours, minutes, and
seconds.
If you want to display the date and time, use the Up or Down buttons.

You can toggle the phone to the compressed display mode by pressing the Enter button.
8.5.2.4 Compressed Display
If the phone is in the compressed display mode when you put a call on hold and the phone is not
