Replacement of wheels and installation of spare wheel
However, the most appropriate time for the tire rotation shall depend
on the driving habits of the driver and the road conditions.
During tire rotation, it is necessary to check tires for uneven wear and
damages. Wrong tire pressure, improper wheel orientation,
unbalanced wheel or abrupt braking operation may result in abnormal
wear-out of tires.
Summer tires
Patten depth cannot be less than 3mm.
There is highly risk of water skiing when the pattern depth is less than
3mm.
Installation of snow tire and snow chain
When to use the snow tire and snow chain
It is recommended to use the snow tire or snow chain when the
vehicle moves on the snow or icy road surface. On the wet or dry road
surface, the towing force generated by an ordinary tire is greater than
that of a snow tire.
Selection of snow tire
If it is necessary to use the snow tire, the tire of the same size,
structure and bearing capacity with the original one shall be used.
Furthermore, for the 4WD vehicles, all tires shall have the same brand
and tread pattern.
It is not allowed to use tires other than those specified above. Before
installation of any tire provided with spikes, you are required to get
clear whether any restriction of such spikes is specified in the local
regulations.
Installation of snow tire
All wheels must be fitted with snow tires. If the snow tire is only
fitted to the front wheels, this may result in a significant difference in
the adherence between front and rear tires, which may cause the loss
of control of the vehicle. The removed tires must be stored on a cool
and dry place.
Selection of tire chain
The tire chain of the correct size shall be used. The regulations
regarding the use of tire chains will vary with the region or road type;
therefore, the reference shall be made to the local regulations before
installation of the tire chain.
Installation of tire chain
The tire chain shall be fitted onto the front tire as tightly as possible.
Do not install any tire chain onto the rear wheel.
After driving for 0.5-1.0km, retighten the tire chain again. When
installing the tire chain onto the tire, do observe the instructions given
by the tire chain manufacturer.
If the wheel casing is used, the tire chain may scratch the wheel
casing; therefore, before installation of the tire chain, the wheel casing
shall be removed.
