6. Set the control lever of the condenser aperture
diaphragm to the value of the selected magnifi-
cation (
10x

40x
or
100x
).
7. Focus on the specimen using the focusing
drive.
8. Use the rotary knob for illumination intensity to
adjust the illumination to a comfortable setting.
If the condenser has been removed (e.g. for installing the illuminating mirror), make sure to rein-
stall and center it using the two centering screws, see
Installing/Removing the Mirror [
