WARNING - RISK OF OPTICAL RADIATION
The light emitted by this device may be harmful. The risk of eye damage
increases with the number of pulses. Exposure at maximum intensity for
more than 1933 pulses will exceed the hazard reference value.
Do not scan patients who have received treatment which causes increased
light sensitivity, e.g. photodynamic therapy (PDT), within the previous 48
hours. If this warning is not heeded, this can result in unintended stress for
the patient and uncontrolled treatment of neovascular vessels.
Because prolonged intense light exposure can damage the retina, the use of
the device for ocular examination should not be unnecessarily prolonged,
and the brightness settings should not exceed what is needed to provide
clear visualization of the target structures.
CAUTION - GENERAL HAZARDS
The patient should not touch the instrument with his/her hands. In
particular, the device should not be used as a support or an aid when
standing up.
CAUTION - RISK OF FALSE DIAGNOSIS
The use of the HD 5 Line/1 Line Raster scans in MultiMode navigation is
additional clinical information which can be considered during diagnosis by
the physician. However, information based only on these scans is not
sufficient for diagnostic decisions.
Please note: It is the task of a physician to make a diagnosis. The diagnosis
should always be established based on various parameters and
examinations.
CAUTION - RISK OF FALSE DIAGNOSIS
When operating radio devices or components for radio transmission,
observe the distances recommended in section Electromagnetic
compatibility (EMC), page 56 and following. If the distance is not observed,
electro-magnetic disturbances may result in artifacts in the images.
Medical electrical devices are subject to special EMC safety regulations and
should be installed and operated in conformity with the EMC information
contained in the accompanying documentation.
