Timing on in normal operation
- Press the ON button (1) once. The last
time setting will appear.
- Continue pressing until the desired time
appears.
- The unit is now ready to operate automa-
tically after the time indicated.
Auto-restart
After an interruption in the power supply for
any reason, the unit will start up again au-
tomatically, maintaining all parameters set
prior to said interruption.
Random start
When the installation includes various units
liable to start simultaneously, the Random
Start function sets a stepped and random
start of same in a period of between 1 and
10 seconds. This avoids electrical overloads.
Resetting set point in heat cy-
cle (offset setting)
So as to avoid the problems derived from
hot air stratification in rooms with tall ceil-
ings, it is possible to reset the temperature
detected by the probe located at the air in-
take of the unit, so as to compensate the
temperature differential between the ceiling
and the lower area of the room. The differ-
entials applied are: 0, +1, +3 and +5º K. This
requires the configuration of switch SW lo-
cated on the electronic board, in accordance
with the following table. This function is op-
erative only in the heat cycle.
HKY-08 to 22 ambient thermo-
stat
The HKY-08 to 22 units are supplied with-
out an ambient thermostat. The user may
use any thermostat on the market that is
compatible with the interconnecting require-
ments stipulated in the wiring diagrams.
Nevertheless, a 230 Vac electromechanical
ambient thermostat is available as a stand-
ard accessory. It is equipped with three
switches. One for setting the HEAT-OFF-
COOL functions; a second for fan operation,
with CONT.-AUTO; and a third for setting the
three fan speeds available.
These units allow ambient temperature con-
trol by means of water valves or fan on-off.
In this latter case, the fan switch should al-
ways be set to "Auto". (Fig. 6)
Location of the HKY-08 to 22
thermostat
The thermostat should be located on a wall
that is not exposed to direct sunlight, at a
height of approximately 1.5 m. from the floor.
This location should be representative of the
room to be conditioned. (Fig. 7)
Filling drain siphon
So as to avoid problems with condensed
water, when starting the unit up and prior to
the beginning of each season, we recom-
mend filling the drain siphon with water. This
is to avoid air being sucked in through this
tube and drain failure.
Air orientation and discharge
Orient the discharge grids in accordance
with the symbols that appear on the deflec-
tor. (Fig. 8)

Maintenance
WARNING
1. For safety reasons, be sure to
disconnect the power supply to the
air conditioner before cleaning.
2. Do not spill water on the indoor
unit for cleaning. Water could dam-
age internal components and cause an elec-
trical discharge.
Casing and grid
(indoor unit)
CAUTION
1. Clean the indoor unit casing and
grid with a vacuum cleaner.
If they are very dirty, use a clean
cloth moistened in a mild liquid
detergent.
2. Do not use solvents or chemical prod-
ucts to clean the indoor unit. Do not clean
the plastic casing with very hot water.
3. Some metal edges and the fins can cause
injuries. Be careful when cleaning these
parts.
4. The internal coil and other components
of the outdoor unit should be cleaned every
year. Contact your dealer.
Maintenance
Carry out regular maintenance operations,
above all:
1- Cleaning outdoor coil.
2- Cleaning air filter.
All data subject to change without notice.
