5.9 Care during Storage
If the instrument is stored for a long time, sufficient care should be taken of the following:
• Wipe off any dust, fingerprints, or other dirt that has adhered to the instrument.
• Perform the inspections given in section 5.5, “Operational Inspection” to check that the
instrument operates properly.
• Do not store the unit in the following locations:
Where it would be exposed to direct sunlight or excessive dust
Where water droplets can contact the instrument, or where high humidity can cause them to form
on the instrument
Where active gas is present, or where the instrument may be subject to corrosion
Where the humidity indicated below can occur
Where temperatures can exceed 50°C
Where the temperature can fall below -10°C
Where the humidity can exceed 80% (no condensation)
For extended storage, it is recommended that the instrument be stored within the range of the
following environmental conditions while, at the same time, the above conditions are met.
• Temperature
5 to 30°C
• Humidity
40 to 70%
• Daily fluctuations of temperature/humidity are small.
