Types of Optical Fiber Cables That Can Be Used with This Instrument
This instrument can be connected to a single-mode optical fiber cable with a 9.5 μm core diameter.
All specifications are defined for 9.5 μm single-mode optical fiber cables.
If a multi-mode optical fiber cable with a core diameter of 50 μm or 62.5 μm is connected, the
connection loss increases, and the measurement level decreases.
Further, the spectrum measurement accuracy is not guaranteed in this case.
Inside the instrument, a single-mode optical fiber cable with a 9.5 μm core diameter is connected to
the optical input connector section.
Clean the connector end face of the optical fiber cable you want to connect before you connect the
optical connector to the instrument.
If dust is adhered to the connector end face, it may damage the instrument’s optical connector.
