Digital Operator
Orientation
All functions of the VS-616PS5 are accessed using the digital operator. Below are descriptions
of the display and keypad sections.
Mode Indicator LEDs
DRIVE Mode LED
Lights when selecting drive mode (operation is possible).
OFF when selecting any other mode.
Rotation Direction LEDs
FWD
: Lights at forward run.
REV
: Lights at reverse run.
REMOTE Mode LEDs
Lights when selecting input mode from the control circuit
terminal or serial communication.
SEQ
: Lights when selecting run command from the
control circuit terminal or serial communication.
REF
: Lights when selecting frequency reference from
the control circuit terminals 13 or 14, or serial
communication.
Display
Displays set values of each function or monitoring value
such as output frequency or current (5 characters).
Operation Mode Selection Key (LOCAL/REMOTE)
The operation mode is alternated with REMOTE and
LOCAL (digital operator) when operational instruction
and frequency references are set at the control circuit
terminal.
Mode Selection Key (DRIVE/PRGM)
Alternates drive or program mode (even during run). In
drive mode, DRIVE LED lights at mode indicator.
Display Selection Key (DSPL)
Selects monitoring items.
Read/Write Key (DATA ENTER)
Selects mode, group, function, or constant name. Dis-
plays each constant set value while displaying a con-
stant name. By pressing this key again, the set value is
written in.
Menu/Set Value Changing Keys
Selects mode, group, function, parameter or set value.

: Increment key
∨∨
: Decrement key
Digit Selection Key (>RESET)
Selects a digit of a set value to be changed. The
selected digit blinks. Resets operation at faults.
Run Command Keys
Run command keys for use by the digital operator.
These are enabled only in the drive mode.
STOP
:
Red LED lights after depressing STOP key.
RUN
:
Red LED lights after depressing RUN key.
FWD/REV
: Selects forward or reverse run.
JOG
:
Jog run is enabled while depressing this
key.
