4. Install:
• Connecting rod bearings 1
• Connecting rod cap 2
• Connecting rod assembly 3
Installation steps:
1. Clean the bearings and connecting rod big
end.
2. Install the upper bearing into the connect-
ing rod assembly

and lower bearing into
the connecting rod cap

NOTE:
• Install the connecting rod bearings in their
original positions.
• Insert the projections
a
of the bearings into
the slots in the connecting rod cap and con-
necting rod.
• Align the characters
b
on the connecting rod
cap and connecting rod.
3. While compressing the piston rings with
the special service tool, install the con-
necting rod assembly into the cylinder.
5. Tighten:
• Connecting rod nuts

NOTE:
Use a commercially available angle gauge to
tighten the nuts to the specified angle.
