Setup & Operation
To Clamp Logs
1.
Raise the clamp in/out lever and clamp the log against the side supports.
2.
Lower the turner lever until the turner arm falls below the bed.
3.
When the turner arm is lowered all the way, the side supports will begin to lower. Back the clamp off
slightly, and let the side supports come down until they are positioned below the level of your first few
cuts.
To Level A Tapered Log
Use the toe board lever(s) to raise either end of a tapered log, if desired.
Raise the appropriate lever to raise the front or rear toe board until the heart of the log measures the
same distance from the bed rails at each end of the log.
Pull-Down Clamps
4.
When a cant is being cut, internal stress in the wood may cause the cant to deform slightly. The cant
with internal stress tends to raise on ends. To prevent this, use two additional Pull-Down clamps.
These clamps are mounted at both bed frame ends and if necessary hold the cant down so it lies flat
on the bed.
