Operation via the plant control system
To operate the CoatMaster via a plant control system, first select the appropriate interface.
There are two possibilities:
•
Ethernet (chapter 7.1.1)
•
WLAN (chapter 7.1.2)
Afterwards select the software protocol for the communication between CoatMaster and plant con-‐
trol system. There are also two possibilities:
•
TCP/IP (chapter 7.2.1)
•
HTTP (chapter 7.2.2)
Both protocols are able to communicate via both interfaces (Ethernet and WLAN). The HTTP-‐protocol
is preferable as it is easier to implement.
7.1
Interfaces
7.1.1
Ethernet
To control the CoatMaster via an Ethernet interface, the following requirements must be fulfilled:
•
The TCP/IP address of the customer network must be defined in the CoatMaster.
•
The plant control system must be connected to the Ethernet connection of the CoatMaster
(position 2 in figure 1) via an Ethernet cable.
Figure 12:
CoatMaster interfaces: 1 Ethernet connection for plant control (option), 2 Sensor connection for automatic
mode (option)
Important note for users of a Siemens SIMATIC S7 SPS:
This control has two different types, which react differently with an Ethernet connection – Type
PN/DP and Type DP.
