English INSTALLATION

5.2.  Installation types

•

Aerator field is anchored securely to the bottom

of the basin.

5.3.  Operating space

• The operating space must be clean, free of coarse

solids, dry, frost-free and, if necessary, decon-

taminated.

• During any work in pump chambers, a second

person must be present for safety reasons.

• Take the necessary countermeasures if there is

a risk of toxic or suffocating gases collecting!

• The set-down location must have a solid bear-

ing surface and be designed appropriately and

dimensioned large enough, so that the entire

load can be unloaded and stored according to

specifications in the section “Transportation and

storage”. Furthermore, the access road to the

set-down location must be accessible for a lorry.

• Provision of electricity, water and compressed air

for the installation.

•

Ensure that lifting equipment can be fitted with

-

out any trouble, since this is required for assembly

and dismantling of a complete aerator field. It

must be possible to reach the aerator field safely

in its operating and storage locations using the

lifting equipment.

•

To transport the aerator field, the load bearing

equipment must be attached to the pipes using

approved lifting gear. Ensure that the payload will

not slip during transport.

• Structural components and foundations must be

of sufficient stability in order to allow the product

to be fixed securely and functionally. The opera

-

tor or the supplier is responsible for provision of

the foundations and their suitability in terms of

dimensions, stability and strength!

5.3.1.  Material to be provided by the customer

• The inlet pipe for air supply

The aerator field is connected via the shut-off

ball cock to the inlet pipe. The position of the

inlet pipe must remain unchanged after the order,

or it can lead to problems during installation.

In addition, the inlet pipe must be self-support-

ing. The weight of the inlet pipe must not be

transferred to the aerator field.

• Fan or compressor

The fan or the compressor must be able to pro-

vide sufficient power to introduce the required

amount of air into the aerator field.

5.4.  Work steps

Installation takes place in the following steps:

1.  Checking the operating space

2.  Unpacking and checking components

3.  Marking the complete installation plan in the

operating space

4.  Installing the pipework

5.  Installing the panel diffuser

• Directly on the basin bottom

• Over threaded rods for subsequent levelling

5.4.1.

Checking the operating space

Before starting the installation, check the operat-

ing space to see if it is prepared accordingly for

the installation:

•

The configuration of the system as well as the

installation and drilling plans are in line with the

current conditions.

• The operating space is cleaned and the com-

ponents (air supply, fan) provided on-site are

prepared/installed accordingly, and a function test

(fan) was performed.

• The inlet pipe for the air supply was purged to

remove potential contaminants.

• Plastic (PE, PUR) becomes brittle in cooler tem-

peratures. Therefore the ambient temperature

during installation should be above +15 °C.

Installations at an ambient temperature

below +5 °C are strictly prohibited!

5.4.2.  Unpacking and checking components

The individual components must be unpacked in a

clean, dry and frost-free place near the installa-

tion site.

Open the packaging carefully, so you do not hurt

yourself or damage the components.

Check all components for damage. Faulty parts

must not be installed. In this case, contact Wilo

customer service.

5.4.3.  Marking the complete installation plan in the

operating space

Transfer the complete installation plan on the

wall and floor of the operating space. Accurately

draw in all pipe clamps, tapping sleeves and the

position of the aerators.

Make sure that the marking is water-proof!

5.4.4.  Installing the pipework

Installation of the pipework begins at the hando-

ver point of the inlet pipe provided by the cus-

tomer. During installation it must be made clear

whether the PE pipe is used as reel or rod product:

•

Reel products: The PE pipe can be directly con

-

nected and fixed to the basin wall and/or the

basin floor with pipe clamps. Here there must

be enough space so that during installation

above the corner a radius of at least 1 m can

be adhered to. If this radius is not possible, 90°

installation bends must be used.

•

Rod products: The PE pipe must be shortened

to the required length each time. For the con-

nection of the individual pipes 90° mounting

brackets and/or in case of lengths above 6 m
