PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

• Aeration systems that have been operated in me-

dia containing faeces and/or media hazardous to

health must be generally decontaminated before

being used in other media.

Clarification must be sought as to whether the

aeration systems may be used again at all, in

another fluid.

• Consult Wilo customer service for use in highly

flammable, explosive and/or aggressive fluids!

3.  Product description

3.1.  Intended use

Wilo-Sevio AIR aeration systems are used for air

intake of large to fine bubble air in aqueous media

such as water, pre-purified sewage or sludge, for

the purpose of supplying oxygen.

Use only in industrial sewage after consulting

Wilo customer service!

The fluid temperature must be b5 °C

and +35 °C. Wilo customer service must be con

-

sulted for use in media with higher temperatures.

In addition, the surrounding fluid must be free of

any sharp objects. It is recommended to carry out

mechanical cleaning upstream.

The supplied air must not exceed a max. tem-

perature of +60 °C (for higher temperatures

please consult Wilo customer service), must be

free of oil, dust and solvents. Dust filters must

comply with filter class EU4 in accordance with

DIN 24185 and/or F5 in accordance with EN 755

(degree of separation > 90 %).
All filters and insulating material used must not

consist of fibreglass, mineral fibres or other

fibrous materials. Rotary slide valves with graphite

discs must be equipped with an air filter on the

pressure side.

These materials can clog or damage the dia-

phragms.

3.2.  Improper use

Aeration systems must

not

 be used in:

•

Media containing fats and oils (above 25 ppm)

• Media with organic solvents

• Halogenated compounds

• Anaerobic milieu

3.3.  Structure

The Wilo-Sevio AIR P aeration system is com-

posed of one or more aerator fields with multiple

aerator lines. An aerator field forms the basic unit

here and consists of several components:

1 Shut-off ball cock for connection to the inlet pipe

provided by the customer

2 Plastic pipe
3 Saddle clamp with a threaded connection
4 Saddle clamp with two threaded connections
5 Panel diffuser
6

Fixation plate for the fixation of the panel diffuser

7 Connecting pipe for the connection of several panel

diffusers

8 End stopper for sealing the aerator lines
9

Clamp bolting (straight or 90° curve) for the connec

-

tion of the PE pipe to the shut-off ball cock

10 Connecting sleeve for the double-sided connection

of the PE pipe (pipe extension)

11

90° mounting bracket for the double-sided connec

-

tion of the PE pipe (corner mounting)

3.3.1.  Pipework

The PE pipe is supplied either as a rod product or

as a reel. For the installation of reel products we

recommend a roll aid with integrated heating. In

this way the curved pipe is easier to align.

•

Length: 6 m for rod products

•

Diameter: da 32 (1") or da 63 (2")

Fixation is done with pipe clamps.

3.3.2.  Fixation plate

Fixation of the panel diffuser is done with the

fixation plates from polypropylene-GF30. This

can be directly mounted on the basin bottom or,

where required, on threaded rods for subsequent

levelling.

3.3.3.  Aerator

The aerator has a PVC housing and a PUR dia-

phragm. The diaphragm is perforated across its

entire surface.

The connection takes place through a connection

nipple in da 32 with an O-ring made of EPDM and

clamp bolting.

The aerator is equipped with a non-return valve.

This prevents fluid from flowing into the piping in

case of a defective diaphragm.

3.4.  Function

A fan or compressor pumps air into the aeration

system via the inlet pipe. The air is distributed

evenly into the individual lines and is fed to the

aerators. The aerators distribute the air over the

entire diaphragm surface and channel it into the

fluid.
