20 W Stereo Integrated Audio Amplifier
– Cut two 3/4-inch long pieces of heat-shrink tubing. Slip one piece over each end of the
audio cable. Process, being careful to not use too much heat.
– Prepare a 23-inch long audio cable. Cut two short pieces of small heat-shrink tubing, each
about 3/4-inch long. Place the tubing at each end of the audio cable. Attach connector pins
to each of the two wires (the white wire and the shield) on both ends of the audio cable.
Insert the connector pins into a 4-conductor Molex socket housing as follows: shield to
position #1 and white to position #2. Process (heat) the end of the cable at the 4 pin Molex
connector.
– Insert the free end of the 23-inch long audio cable wires into the 12 terminal Molex header
as follows:
•
White to pin #9 (right output)
•
Shield to pin #10 (GND)
– Using a heat gun, process the heat shrink tubing on the end of the cable.
– Prepare a 12-inch long #22 black wire. Attach a connector pin to one end of the wire.
Insert into the 12 terminal Molex header as follows: black to pin #12 (GND).
– Insert the 12 terminal Molex connector just assembled into
CONN104
on the preamplifier
PWB. Note that pin 1 faces the rear of the chassis.
– Find the cable from terminals 1–4 of CONN104 on the preamplifier board. Route the
cable to the front panel
Bass Control
. Connect the wires to R127a as follows:
•
Red to terminal #1 (low). Solder.
•
White to terminal #2 (arm). Solder.
•
Black to terminal #3 (high). Solder.
•
Clip off the shield drain wire. It is not used on this end.
– Find the cable from terminals 5–8 of CONN104 on the preamplifier board. Route the
cable to the front panel
Treble Control
. Connect the wires to R132a as follows:
•
Red to terminal #1 (low). Solder.
•
White to terminal #2 (arm). Solder.
•
Black to terminal #3 (high). Solder.
