– Insert the left channel speaker PWB over the left channel barrier strip posts. Orient the
board so the relay faces the center of the chassis.
– Cut a 4-inch long #18 black wire. Attach a quick-disconnect terminal to one end of the
wire.
– Observe the speaker connection barrier strip for the left channel output. Note that one post
is the “Ground” position and the other is the “8 Ohm” position. Using a pair of long-nose
pliers, fashion a small loop at the other end of the black wire. Attach to the left channel
Ground
terminal from the component side of the PWB. Solder. While soldering, position
the board so it rests against the rear panel chassis and is parallel with the chassis deck.
Note that the solder connection ties together the black wire, the barrier strip post, and the
PWB mounting post. Use care when soldering to avoid contact with other wiring in the
chassis and/or the relay housing.
– Cut a 4-inch long #18 yellow wire. Attach a quick-disconnect terminal to one end of the
wire. Using a pair of long-nose pliers, fashion a small loop at the other end of the wire.
Attach to the left channel
8 Ohm
terminal from the component side of the PWB. Solder.
Note that the solder connection ties together the yellow wire, the barrier strip post, and the
PWB mounting post. Use care when soldering to avoid contact with other wiring in the
chassis and/or the relay housing.
– Prepare a 10-inch long #22 yellow wire. Attach a small-size quick-disconnect terminal to
one end of the wire (use the terminal sized for the relay coil post).
– Find the #22 yellow wire from the front panel Speaker On/Off switch. Combine the wire
with the #22 yellow wire in the previous step and attach a small-size quick-disconnect
terminal (two wires crimped together). Connect to one of the coil posts on the right
channel speaker relay, RYL1.
– Prepare a 10-inch long #22 yellow wire. Attach a small-size quick-disconnect terminal to
one end of the wire (use the terminal sized for the relay coil posts).
– Find the #22 yellow wire from the GND post on the left channel PWB. Combine this wire
with the #22 yellow wire prepared in the previous step. Attach a small-size quick-
