The
Uni-Drive
side belt system was designed to keep the case square during sealing. It provides a technically
stronger seal and a better-looking appearance than other belt drive systems in the market.
In the
Uni-Drive
system, both belts are linked to a single motor/gear unit by a continuous loop of #40 pre-
stretched machine chain. Chain tension is automatically maintained during case width adjustments by a self-
compensating serpentine chain configuration.

Chain tension is preset at the factory. If an adjustment is needed, only adjust the Chain Tensioning Sprocket.
Proper tension is achieved when the horizontal sag in the chain measures between 1/8 ” and 1/4 ” with drive belts
in a fully opened (maximum width) position.
The chain should be lubricated with a spray type ‘Moly’ chain lubricant once every 100 hrs of operation. Lift the
flexible bellows cover and spray the chain through the slot in the stainless steel safety covers underneath.
For full access to the chain drive, remove the stainless steel safety covers by unfastening the screws attaching
them to the machine frame cross members.
SAFETY:
All drive covers must be replaced prior to restarting the machine
.
CAUTION: Disconnect all electrical and air supply lines before
performing any adjustment or maintenance on the machine.
