PROBLEMS CORRECTIVE
ACTION
Frequent Belt Breakage
•
If a stepped-splice belt is used, check rotation direction of belt.
Finger-spliced belts should not be sensitive to direction.
•
Over tensioning of belts - correct setting allows approximately one
inch of slack at center point of conveyor belt.
•
Check to ensure idler and drive pulleys rotate freely.
•
Check to ensure idler pulley has camber set for correct belt tracking.
Machine Jams Frequently
•
Turn off machine as soon as jam occurs and prior to clearing jam.
Open Belts and raise head, remove jammed case and debris. Check
for jam causes:
1. Belts set too tight causing machine overloading.
2. Product is overfilled or inconsistent causing intermittent jams.
3. Top folder height is not set correctly; flaps subsequently hit the
top ski or other mechanism.
