WARNING
Explosion risk!
During installation work, sparks can form and

Before starting any work, make sure that
there is not an explosive atmosphere!
▶
For applications in explosive risk zones,
observe the installation and construction
requirements of EN 60079-15 and coun

try-specific regulations.

All installation and wiring work must be
carried out with the power supply discon-
nected.
▶
Make sure that the place of installation
has been disconnected from the power
supply!
ATTENTION
The product can be destroyed by elect-
rostatic discharge!
u-remote products can be destroyed by elect-
rostatic discharge.
▶
Make sure that persons and work equip-
ment are sufficiently earthed!
The stepper motor module has no fused sensor/
actuator supply. Therefore, all cables to the con-
nected sensors/actuators must be fused corres-
ponding to their conductor cross-sections (as per
DIN EN 60204-1, Section 12).

Carry out all work during the installation/removal and
replacement of components as described in the u-remote
manual.
4.1 Connecting the external power supply

Connect the external power supply to connector 8.

Connecting the external power supply
If the stepper motor module is used with a safe
power-feed module (UR20-PF-O-X-SIL):
▶
Note that only the digital outputs on the step-
per motor module are safely switched off.
Make sure that the external power supply is
disconnected in the event of a fault.
4.2 Connecting the stepper motor
Use shielded cables to connect the stepper
motor.
If the actual rotation direction of the stepper
motor does not correspond to the dircection
indicated in the process data, reverse the polarity
of one phase.
