Connect an air tool to the system to ensure all the stored air is released

Gently pull up on the ring on the pressure relief valve to confirm the system is
depressurized (Figure 24).
Do not use the pressure relief valve as a means of depressurizing
the compressor system. Doing so will prematurely wear the internal
spring or the seat, preventing the valve from maintaining normal
system pressure.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal (Figure 25).
