Error due to a bad patient's positioning
•
The film shows the anterior teeth with reduced magnification
and not well defined. The cervical spine is shown an evident
white shadow.
In addition, on the molar zone there are too much shadows,
disturbing the view.
The resulting film is similar to the schema shown on Figure 8-4.

Possible cause:
The patient is positioned too forward, the anterior teeth will result
unfocussed and reduced.
Remedy:
Check the patient positioning.
If, after the correct patient’s positioning, the problem still remain,
check the alignment of rotating arm.
A more accurate check can be performed using the service tool and
verifying the distance between the two lateral metal parts.
