Delete RAID Set

Repeat the process of selecting a RAID set from the list and deleting its

RAID set—until all RAID sets are deleted.

Return to the original page, and click the 

SAS Raid Controllers

 link named

ARC-1883IX-24 Web Management

 or similar link to access the last RAID

controller and delete its RAID sets.

Repeat the process of selecting a RAID set from the list and deleting its

RAID set—until all RAID sets are deleted.

Each RAID set has been fully deleted from the GigaStor unit.

How to build new RAID sets

Create a new RAID array set in the Areca interface, and then prepare the new

volume in Windows so it can be read and written to.

Prerequisite(s): 

  

This procedure assumes you have already deleted your RAID set(s).

 

By following these steps, all RAID sets and volumes are made. Part of this process

includes 

foreground initialization

 that prohibits you from interacting with RAID

sets before initialization completes. It can take many hours for initialization to

complete, and during that time the RAID is not available.
To build new RAID sets:

1.

Go back into 

ARC-1883IX-24 Web Management

, and select 

Raid Set

Functions

 > 

Create RAID Set

.

2.

Select all 24 disk drives available, select 

Confirm the Operation

, and click

Submit

.

3.

Repeat 

step 1

 and 

step 2

 for each expansion unit on this RAID controller.

Each expansion unit (JBOD) has 24 disk drives, so create several RAID sets of

that size.

4.

In the leftmost panel, select 

Volume Set Functions

 > 

Create RAID
