Locate and open the box or boxes that contain the Disk Drive In Carrier (DDIC)
units.
All carriers contain a 10GB disk drive except for the carriers in slots 41 and 83
which contain blanks. In the following diagrams the blank carriers are shown
in light blue.

Before removing the disk drives from a shipping box, prepare each disk drive
carrier for drawer installation.
Do the following for each disk drive carrier:

Identify the release latch in the middle of the top of a carrier.
■
Push the release latch to the right in the direction of the arrow. A yellow
line appears to the left of the latch when the carrier is unlocked.
