5.4.4 Configuration Example for DHCP
1. Requirements
In this example, the Gigabit Router acts as a DHCP server to dynamically assign the IP
addresses to the clients that reside on the same subnet. The Gigabit Router’s LAN IP
address is 192.168.1.1/24. The start IP address of the DHCP address pool is
192.168.1.11, and the number of addresses is 100.
Besides, there are two computers that must always have the same IP address: one’s MAC
address is 00:21:85:9B:45:46 and IP address is 192.168.1.15, the other’s MAC address is
00:1f:3c:0f:07:f4 and IP address is 192.168.1.16.
2. Configuration Steps
Step 1
Go to the
Network > DHCP Server > DHCP Server Settings
page.
Step 2
As shown in the following figure, select the
Enable DHCP Server
check box,
and enter
192.168.1.11
and
192.168.1.110
in the
Start IP Address
and
End IP
Address
text boxes respectively. Leave the other parameters at their default
values.
Then
click
the
Save
button
to
save
the
settings.
