Step 3 Renewing the firmware

Click the

Upgrade

button to renew the Gigabit Router’s firmware. If you click the

Upgrade

button, you will be prompted to confirm the upgrade (see Figure 10-8). Then you can click

to upgrade the firmware and restart the Gigabit Router, or click

Cancel

to cancel the

operation.

Note

1. It is strongly recommended that you upgrade the firmware when the Gigabit Router is

under light load.

2. If you upgrade firmware timely, the Gigabit Router will have more functionality and

better performance. The right upgrade will not change the Gigabit Router’s current

settings.

3. To avoid any unexpected error or unrecoverable hardware damage, do not power off

the Gigabit Router during upgrading.

4. After the upgrade is complete, the Gigabit Router will automatically restart in order for

the

new

firmware

take

effect,

without

human

intervention.
