DMS Setup/Zone Settings/Connect to Zone/Hardware Settings
Click the
Hardware
tab to navigate to the Hardware Zone 1 Settings. As in previous tabs, you will utilize list
boxes to set each parameter. See notes below.
HDMI Audio Output (for HDMI sources only)
If your client would like to use his TV instead of the
DMS-AV, set this to Pass Through. For the DMS-AV to actually make sound for the client via connected
speakers it needs to be set to the default
Speaker
setting.
CEC Control (for HDMI sources connected to the DMS-AV)
CEC is the Consumer Electronics Control standard for HDMI devices to pass control signals to each other.
To use CEC control to automatically power off HDMI sources set CEC as follows.
● OFF
CEC is off.
● ALWAYS ON
DMS-AV turns on and off all CEC
compatible source devices when
the DMS-AV turns on and off.
● POWER ON
DMS-AV turns on source devices,
but never turns them off.
Since many HDMI sources do not support CEC, the
default CEC setting is OFF.
TV Power Sync (for TVs with CEC)
The default setting is OFF.
Auto A/V Sync
This is the HDMI automatic syncing system, which
should always be on, since HDMI utilizes timing flags
to lip sync audio with video. For trouble shooting
purposes only, you can turn it off via this window.
Amp Assignment
The DMS-AV can either power Front Height speakers or Surround Back speakers, but not both. You cannot
utilize pre outs and a separate power amp to provide both. It is one or the other.
Note: Surround Back speakers provide the listener with the feeling that some sounds come from directly
behind them (if the Surround speakers are placed correctly on the sides of the room). Front Height
speakers are effective at creating the illusion that some sounds come from directly above the client.
