APPENDIX A
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Section I. Specifications
Line Voltage
The PM6 is a NEMA Type BS2HX Bench Type Synchronous Welding Control which is capable of
operating from a single phase 100, 115, 208, or 230 VAC, 50/60 Hz power source. PM6 Controls are
shipped wired for 230 VAC unless otherwise specified.
The PM6/460 option is capable of operating from a single phase 220, 380, 415, 440 or 460 VAC, 50/60 Hz
power source. PM6/460 Controls are shipped wired for 460 VAC, however the user must supply the circuit
breaker, disconnect and input wiring.
50/60 Hz Operation
The PM6 is a dual- frequency control whose microprocessor automatically compensates for 50 or 50 Hz
operation.
Output Current vs Duty Cycle
Duty cycle is defined as the percentage of time during which the weld current flows in a one minute
interval. The two extreme conditions for 50 percent duty cycle are: ON for every other cycle; or ON for
thirty seconds. Line current ratings for the PM6 Control are based on the size of the internal wiring.

Weld Schedules
The user can save (write) eight different weld schedules in Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-
Only Memory (EEPROM). In this manual, this is referred to as permanent memory. Weld Schedules
are numbered 0 through 7.
