With a Manual Head, Footswitch Weld Abort will always be ON regardless of the position of the
Jumper on the Input/Output Board. This means that if the operator releases the Footpedal during the
welding sequence, the sequence will abruptly abort (terminate).
It is necessary to remove the outside
cover to change the Footswitch Weld
Abort Option. Use the following
procedure:
a Switch the Front Panel Power
Switch to OFF.
b Disconnect the PM6 from its
power source.
c LOOSEN the four screws which
secure the cover and lift the cover
"straight up" to remove it.
When the Footswitch Weld Abort
option is ON, the two pins at the top
of the I/O board are open. A jumper
is placed over one pin only. To set
this option to OFF, remove the jumper
from the single pin by pulling straight
up. Replace the jumper across both
pins. When the two pins are shorted, Footswitch Weld Abort is OFF.
Replace Cover
After changing position of the Footswitch Weld Abort Jumper, replace the cover and tighten screws.
After the cover has been securely fastened the line cord may be reconnected to the power source.
