The video input section basically only reports if something has been overridden compared to the EDID built automatically
by the HDMI board from the EDID received from its outputs. Thus and as we don’t process video, the EDID is
mostly a copy of the display’s one (that you can read on the Out EDID Tab, see below).
9.4.1 AUDIO & VIDEO
• Short Audio Descriptors of the display if it can handle sound,
• Speaker Allocation, basically what kind of speaker is available (accepted input signal can vary from the speaker layout
used by the display).
•
HDMI DATA BLOCK:
a list of video features and if they are supported or not
•
HDMI FORUM DATA BLOCK:
an extension of the previous for HDMI 2.0 only content. A “max_tmds” field inferior to
600 in that section indicates that the display does not support 18Gbps signal.
•
COLORIMETRY:
What are the color spaces handled by the display.
•
HDR Static:
HDR capabilities of the display. Basic HDR10 support will require the “EOTF-SMPTE_St_2084” fieldset at
true.
•
VIDEO TIMINGS:
list of Horizontal/Vertical/frame rate handled by the device. Note that the list may not be exhaustive.
9.4.2 REFRESH BUTTON
In the upper right corner of the Out EDID Tab, you will find a refresh button. You can use it if the section is empty to
populate it (the operation will take something like 5 seconds). It could be the case if the display is plugged in after the
Altitude
16
has been booted for instance.
