9 _HDMI FEATURES
The Altitude firmware offers a menu dedicated to collect various HDMI information on the
devices plugged to the Altitude
16
, the various handshakes (EDID, HDCP) between them, and
the current video status.
We hope this data will help you in your setup procedure and otherwise will please the more tech-savvy among yours!
The following document will explain some of the data and features displayed in this menu but does not intend to be
exhaustive.
NOTE: Depending on the generation of Altitudes, the HDMI board in it will have different specifications. Please,
contact Trinnov Audio to get more information on the HDMI board inside the device.
These features are only available for HDMI 2.0 - 7x2 boards. These boards contain 7 HDMI inputs.
If the device has a newer generation of HDMI 2.0 - 8x2 boards, It will only allow the following information:
• Video resolution
• Video Refresh rate
• Video bit depth
• Video color sampling
It will not allow retrieving more advanced information about the video signals.
9.1 _HOW TO ACCESS THE HDMI MENU
This menu is accessible by clicking on the “OUT HDMI VIDEO” on the left panel of the
interface, it will extend on the right as other menus accessible through the left panel.
NOTE: an HDR indicator has been added to the “OUT HDMI VIDEO” section of the left panel menu, it will display
HDR10, DV or HLG depending on the incoming signal.
The first Tab of this menu, “Video”, displays in almost real time the parameters seen by the HDMI board on the current
input and on both outputs, resolution, frame rate, HDCP, syncing etc.
NOTE: we have noticed that sometimes information does not refresh correctly to the last mode used. This issue is
under investigation.
The second Tab “Setup” let you select in which mode, HDMI 1.4 or HDMI 2.0, you want the inputs to be configured. Setting
an input to HDMI 1.4 may help with the compatibility of some devices.
NOTE: outputs are not configurable, there is a hardware limitation that does not allow it. So output 1 is HDMI 1.4
only and output 2 is HDMI 2.0.
The third tab “In EDID” report the current EDID of the Altitude, it is the EDID that is sent to sources plugged to the
Altitude. (The video parameters are not reported as they depend of the display used).
The fourth tab “Out EDID” is the EDID read from the devices connected to the HDMI outputs of the Altitude. You can thus
check if all expected video modes and features are recognized.
NOTE: You will find a more detailed description of all these features in the next chapters.
