<PPPoE Setup> is only available under <WAN (eth0)>
configuration menu.
DHCP Setup
With DHCP function, users are able to obtain a dynamic IP address from
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server when the NVR boots up.
When using DHCP, the settings are dynamic and will change every time the
NVR powers on or off, depending on the network setup.
Check the
“
Enable DHCP
”
box and click on <Restart>, a dynamic IP address
will be assigned to the NVR. In this case, users do not need to set the
Ethernet settings in IPv4 section, including IP address, Subnet Mask, Default
Gateway, and DNS settings. These settings will be read-only.
If the NVR is using a fixed address, un-check the
“
Enable DHCP
”
box to
manually set IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and DNS. See the
network system administrators or IT personnel for appropriate values.
IPv4
If users decide to set a fixed IP address for the NVR, users have to manually
set the Ethernet settings of the NVR in this section.
-
Address
This item is used to configure the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the
NVR. The IP address is the identifier for the NVR on a TCP/IP LAN.
Double click on the entry field and a virtual numeric keypad will pop up.
Enter the static IP address for the NVR using the virtual keypad.
-
Subnet Mask
A netmask, a 32-bit mask, is used to divide an IP address into subnets
and specify the networks available hosts. Its value is defined by the
network administrator. It takes the form as ***.***.***.***, for example,
255.255.255.255. Double click on the entry field and a virtual numeric
keypad will pop up. Enter the value of the subnet mask for the NVR using
the virtual keypad.
