Installing the FL Inverter Cable and Display Cable

To install the FL inverter cable and display cable, follow the steps below and refer to Figure
4-42.

1.

Connect the 

FL inverter cable

, 

contrast control board cable 

(DSTN only), and

display cable 

on the 

LCD module

. Route the FL inverter cable through the mylar

insulators.

2.

Secure a ground cable to the 

system board 

with an 

M2.5x6 screw

.

3.

Secure a ground cable to the 

left hinge

 with an 

M2.5x6 screw

.

4.

Secure a ground cable to the 

computer

 with an 

M2.5x6 screw

.

Secure a ground cable to the 

right hinge

 with an 

M2.5x6 screw

6.

Install the LCD module (for display cable only), FL inverter board, display mask,
speakers, keyboard base and display assembly, upper cover and keyboard, HDD,
CD-ROM drive or FDD, optional PCMCIA card, optional memory module, and
battery pack as described in Sections 4.20, 4.19 (TFT display) or 4.18 (DSTN
display), 4.17, and 4.9 back through 4.2.
