4.10 Infrared Board
Removing the Infrared Board
To remove the infrared board, follow the steps below and refer to Figure 4-25.
1.
Turn off the power to the computer, then disconnect the AC adapter and all
external cables connected to the computer.
2.
Remove the battery pack, optional memory module, optional PCMCIA card, FDD
or optional CD-ROM drive, HDD, upper cover, keyboard, speakers, keyboard
base, and display assembly as described in Sections 4.2 through 4.9.
3.
Disconnect
PJ1
on the
infrared board
from
PJ4
on the
sound board.

Installing the Infrared Board
To install the infrared board, follow the steps below and refer to Figure 4-25.
1.
Position the audio jacks on the infrared board through their corresponding holes in
the metal bracket on the system board, then seat the infrared board by connecting
PJ1
on the board to
PJ4
on the sound board.
2.
Install the speakers, keyboard base and display assembly, upper cover and
keyboard, HDD, optional CD-ROM drive or FDD, optional memory module,
optional PCMCIA card, and battery pack as described in Sections 4.9 back
through 4.2.
