T4900CT
Before You Begin
Look over the procedures in this section before you begin disassembling the T4900CT.
Familiarize yourself with the disassembly and reassembly steps. Begin each procedure by
removing the AC adapter and the battery pack as instructed in section
4.2,
The Battery Pack.
Warning:
Wait at least five minutes after turning off the power before you begin disas-
sembly. The T4900CT’s processor operates at high temperature and there is a danger of
incurring burns if you touch the chassis while it is hot.
Warning
: If you need to operate the machine while it is partially disassembled, be sure
that each PCB is mounted on the middle frame and that the upper system board cover is
securely mounted. The system board cover works as a heatsink to help cool the CPU.
The following figure indicates the area of greatest heat concentration.
