Display Assembly
Removing the Display Assembly
To remove the T4500/T4600 Family computer’s display assembly, follow the steps below and refer
to Figure 4-18.
1. Turn off the power to the computer; disconnect the AC adapter, power cord and all external
cables connected to it.
2. Remove the battery pack, optional memory card, optional PCMCIA card, and top cover as
described in Sections 4.2 through 4.5. Also, remove the protective metal plate to discon-
nect the FL inverter cable as described in Section 4.8 (shown in Figure 4-14).
3. Disconnect the two display cables and one FL inverter cable (Figure 4-18).
4. Remove the tape securing the display disable switch cable and disconnect it from the
system board (Figure 4-18).
5. Remove the four M2.5x6 silver screws behind the status indicator panel securing the
ground cables (Figure 4-18).
6. Remove the four M2.5x6 silver screws on the back of the computer and on the display
hinges which secures the right hold plate and display (Figure 4-18).
7. Lift off the display assembly (Figure 4-18).
